We stand in solidarity for protection of women’s, LGBTQ and children’s rights. We work closely with the Manatee County Democratic Party in its goal of increasing voter registration, finding and supporting Manatee County Democrats to run for county and state offices, and reaching out to Democrats in the county through literature drops, postcards and letters. We meet the second Thursday of the month. We have a speaker who brings an important message to those attending. We also have a fundraiser to raise money for scholarships to deserving young people, who are, or whose parents are, Democrats, for higher education. Why do we do this? Because in the current environment, if you are a Democrat, you might feel that this is an uphill battle that can never be won. But it can be- not by a massive overhaul but by being diligent and resilient and always looking forward.
